Tips and tricks to grow your city and score points
This website helps you play Forge of Empires. And have fun.
Forge of Empires is a click-and-wait game. I recommend it as a fun game. A certain amount of patience is needed. The goal is to grow your city. Growing your city increases your abilities to trade and fight your way to success. It plays in bursts of activity that, if you get hooked, you can explore new features for years. In general, the longer you play, the higher your score.
Forge of Empires should be a fun game.
WARNING: If playing the game regularly annoys people you love or it stops being fun or makes you miss appointments, seek help.
The goal of this website is to help you play Forge of Empires.
I am a mathematician looking to prove whether ideas are good or not.
I use logic and simple mathematics to prove ideas are sound. Occasionally, I use statistics that strongly support a particular piece of advice. I try to explain the proofs in straightforward language.
Sometimes, a widely accepted opinion goes unopposed for decades because of who said it first. These assumptions can be wrong.
For example, many players focus almost exclusively on military buildings to increase gameplay. You may be unaware that this stunts city growth.
Mathematically speaking, direct Forge Point production multiplies with military bonuses and space to increase growth. Forge point production helps you accelerate your investment in military Great Buildings. Military bonuses help you grow your forge point production in Guild Battlegrounds and quests. They accelerate each other to help you grow your city.
That growth increases space, which allows you to have more buildings to help you grow even more. Increasing your military bonuses, Forge point production or whatever you want in your city.
Focusing too much on one or the other stunts growth. A balanced approach is best.
Not that everything I do is sane or even sensible. For instance when FoE-Helper suggested I built the Innovation Tower I did. Initially it certainly is a cheap way to get FP back on the investment. However, if you look at the Wiki you can see that the maximum level, 80, Innovation Tower only prduces 48 forge points. As The Innovation tower that takes a 6x6 footpring is only producing one and a third forge point per square. This is way below the current event buildings that can ber as high as four forge points per square. Unless Inno increase the upper limit on this production I strongly advise against building it.
One problem with mathematics is that without a complete picture mathematical models often get it wrong. In many ways FoE-helper gives bad advice. One project to come is investigate foe-helpers failures.
So All comments and questions are welcome. I certainly do not think I have done everything right and I am still learning.
This website is my hobby. I add updates when I have time. It is here to serve you. So what do you want?
Do you find socialising fun?
If enough people want this site to become a social site, it will need public liability insurance and register with the Information Commissioner's Office(ICO) for General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) management. It will also need an End User Licence Agreement explaining GDPR requirements and any site rules we may want to introduce. These will cost hundreds of pounds.
I suggest creating a charity with clear financial goals to cover the website's costs. We need three members to set one up. With a few hundred members, we can cover these costs easily.
